Mecklemore joined Red25, an initiative by the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. Red25 is a life-saving social responsibility program where workplaces, community groups, and universities around Australia unite to save lives through blood donation. Together, Red25 members work towards ensuring that 25% of Australia's blood donations are secured.
"We’re so proud to see everyone from small businesses to local sporting clubs to some of Australia’s largest corporate employers offer their incredible support to reach this goal. When we work together, we can make a big difference." Shelley Park, CEO Australian Red Cross Blood Service, said.
Over 25,000 blood donations are required in Australia each week. 1 in 3 people will need blood or blood products, yet only 1 in 30 donates. Well, not at mecklemore.
"Becoming a blood donor has been on my mind for quite some time, but it was only when mecklemore signed up for Red25 that I finally went in and gave my first blood donation. It feels incredible to know that with a little bit of yourself you can make a big difference for someone else." said Christiane Pieper, head of marketing at mecklemore.
