Golf for two good Causes

Once again, team mecklemore was invited by the 'Give a little Love' foundation to a phenomenal round of morning golf at the world acclaimed Australian Golf Club in Rosebery. Golf was played in support of Batyr and Smiling Mind, two fantastic organisations with clear focus on the support of mental health issues, especially in youths.
An overcast and at times drizzly morning didn't dampen the spirit of team mecklemore. Carolyn, Peter, Lachlan and Christoph set out to achieve great things and they did - at times. Carolyn needed a few holes to warm up after about a year and a half away from the sport but then hit them beautifully; Peter, somewhat new to the game, started to produce shots that could have easily attracted the envy of a pro; Lachlan was on fire right from the get go - until he realised that he was 'at risk' of putting a really good round together at the Australian. And Christoph? Well, inconsistent as always but enjoying every moment.
At lunch, we heard from batyr and smiling mind about the incredible difference these two not-for-profit's are making to the lives of young people.
- Batyr is a ‘for purpose’ preventative mental health organisation, created and driven by young people, for young people. They smash the stigma surrounding mental ill health and empower young people to reach out for support. We help create communities that support young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
- Smiling Mind are a 100% not-for-profit organisation that works to make mindfulness accessible to all. Their vision is to help every mind thrive and that's why Smiling Mind believe taking a pre-emptive approach to support mental health is essential and it needs to be accessible to all.
